Illuminate your patio or porch in the evenings with this color-changing solar wind chime. The Flipo 22 Inch Illuminated Solar Wind Chime has four solar panels that provide power for an LED contained inside a crackled texture glass sphere. The LED progresses through seven colors - one color every three seconds - and its light is refracted through the glass, creating star-like patterns on walls and floors. The sphere also acts as a striker for the five aluminum chimes that hang from the canopy, producing a gentle cascade of tones when moved by breezes. Available in a silver finish, this stunning solar wind chime measures 22 inches long and 8 inches in diameter.

We liked the looks of this wind chime so much, we purchased a replacement when it quit working after 5 years of service. I believe the problem might be linked to the light sensor. Changed the batteries and it still failed. The new one came and I noticed the lens on the light sensor was clear where the old lens was almost white. Rather than mess with it, I decided to replace the unit I enjoyed so much. I will buy another if this one lasts even close to 5 years. It is a beautiful chime, especially at night.

This is a very attractive wind chime, with pleasant tones, but it's definitely not high-quality in design or manufacture. I broke one of the strips that the chime tubes hook onto while assembling it because the whole mechanism is clunky to work with and the housing is cheap plastic. You have to manuever the hook over the plastic strip (which is tiny and thin) and there's very little room to work. In addition, I find it a bit odd that this product would be marketed to "illuminate a porch" when it's not bright enough to illuminate anything (it's strictly a decorative illumination). And if you actually place it on a covered porch, it won't ever get enough sunlight to light up at all. The instructions say it needs to be exposed to the sun for a minimum of 8 hours per day for the solar panels to get the maximum charge. By the way, the instructions say nothing about putting it together, so you're left to figure it out yourself. Some people might have a problem with that.

I can't recommend this product due to the inferior quality of the construction.

On a positive note, it really is attractive, glowing in the dark and cycling between colors.

We like how the chime will change colors and the colors are pretty bright. We had a soft breeze and the chime was fine for that breeze. We haven't heard the chime on a windy day, can't comment on that yet. We have it hanging by our kitchen window and it will illuminate the kitchen. So for the battery will last all night, we actually will see the colors in the morning before we go to work.

I enjoy the color show in the evening and during the daytime it's quite pleasant, not loud or disruptive, doesn't chime at the least little breeze, just every now and then.

Service and delivery comments:

I was amazed at how quickly the chimes arrived. They had minor assembly, but so easy, not a problem at all.
